Position Uncertain
A Shipwreck. A Betrayal. A Daughter's Reckoning.
In 1641, the Dutch merchant ship Walburga was pursued through a severe storm off the coast of Mozambique. She struck a reef and sank, taking eighty-one lives and a cargo of mostly stolen silver to the bottom of the sea.
Almost four hundred years later, restoration expert Mara Voss opens the safety-deposit box her father left behind and discovers a hand-drawn chart—and a five-word warning:
Found it. Don't trust Reyes.
What follows is a race to find the Walburga, uncover the truth about her loss, and protect the wreck from those who would exploit it.
Position Uncertain is a modern maritime adventure thriller about shipwrecks, betrayal, trust, and the secrets that refuse to stay buried.

A Message from the Author
I never set out to become a novelist.
I joined Sea Scouts in 1977, looking for something to do after leaving Boy Scouts. What began as an interest became nearly fifty years around boats, eventually leading to a lifetime of vessel operation, maintenance, teaching, and service as a Sea Scout Skipper.
I've enjoyed maritime adventure fiction for years, so eventually I decided to try writing one myself. Position Uncertain is the result.
The story is fictional, but the world that surrounds it comes from something I know well: Boats, the people who operate them, maritime history, and the fascination that comes from wondering what might still be waiting beneath the water.
I hope readers enjoy the adventure, care about Mara Voss and the people she encounters, and perhaps come away wondering what other stories the sea has kept for itself.
